4 day In Person Workshop: "Sterling & Moon Poison Ring"

Metalsmithing Level 4 Advanced Workshop.
This is offered once a month from March through August, 2026

  • Day One: 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM

  • Day Two: 10:00 PM - 4:00 PM

  • Day Three: 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM

  • Day Four: 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM

This 4 day Workshop involves many different processes and techniques to create this whimsical sterling silver poison ring, for that special occasion. This workshop is only for advanced silversmiths and not for beginners.

There are many parts to this ring and is a more advanced ring to create. You will basically need to know how to solder many parts, and set a clay moon in a bezel. All the rest I will walk you through with advanced soldering techniques.

What is the difference between class and workshop?

Workshops are intensive, hands-on, and interactive sessions focused on practical skill acquisition, emphasis on immediate, in-the-moment application, and are often completed in an accelerated timeframe. They are usually for bigger projects; may require multiple sessions; may be providing access/use of equipment in the workshop attendees don't normally own for personal use. Classes seem shorter, with 1 - 2 sessions.

You will learn:

  • You will also learn advanced soldering techniques using all 4 temperatures.

  • How to create a small container, how to create a small hinge.

  • You will also learn how to embellish different parts of the ring.

  • How to put it all together and have it open and close easily.

  • A bit of smithing to shape your work with different smithing tools.

  • Advanced jewelry making skills on a jewelers bench.

  • Finishing and polishing your work on different machines.

⇒ REMEMBER: Supplies will be provided. Sterling Silver sheet, silver wire, clay moon, and other materials, solder, and tools.
